Pastor Martin Schoell grew up in Adelaide, Australia, and came to the United States in the early 1970s to continue his studies in theology and social work at Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, and Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. After marrying his wife Jan in Detroit, he returned to Australia where he worked as a social worker in Melbourne for the Lutheran Church of Australia. Having decided to become a pastor, he came back to the United States with Jan and their first son Timothy who was born in Australia.
After studying Greek, Hebrew, and theology at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota, he entered Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, graduating in 1984. He served as pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Libertyville, Illinois, for 23 years before coming to St. Peter in March of 2008. His wife Jan has retired from working as a part-time registered nurse at Columbia-St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee. They have four grown children, Timothy, Lisa, Matthew, and Katie.

Pastor William Dunn spent his entire youth growing up in Texas, in both the Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth areas. In 2008, after studying chemical engineering for two and a half years at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em Horns!), the native Texan made a complete 180 change and drove north to New Ulm, MN where he transferred to Martin Luther College to study to be a pastor. He graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Languages, and then graduated with a Master of Divinity from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI.
He was assigned to St. Peter and was installed on July 3rd, 2016 as the bilingual Spanish pastor. He is married to Lauren, who splits her time as a mother of 3 (1 more on the way) and a Spanish graduate student at Universtiy of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She also leads our Spanish women's bible study every Friday morning. They are pleased to call Milwaukee home and have enjoyed getting to know the southside.
