We want you to feel welcome and comfortable during your first visit on Sunday, so we've attempted to answer a few common questions. Here's what you can expect on Sundays.

WHAT KIND OF CHURCH ARE YOU?

We’re a Lutheran church. That means we believe in the Bible as God’s Word, in Jesus as the only true Savior of all the world’s sinners, and in the gracious work of God through baptism and the Lord’s supper. Find out more about our beliefs.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED AND WHERE DO I GO WHEN I GET THERE?

Near South side of Milwaukee off I-94 on the corner of 8th and Scott St.

You can park on the street in front of the church or behind the school across the street in the parking lot. You can enter through the two main doors at the top of the steps or through our accessible ramp on the south side of the building.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

There is no dress code at St. Peter. You’ll see some people dressed in jeans and a polo, and others will be dressed in their Sunday best. God isn’t that interested in our threads. Come as you are!

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE WORSHIP SERVICE?

Our services are generally a little over an hour. During the service, you’ll hear a 20-30 minute sermon from one of our preachers on staff. The message is always based on the Bible, makes sense, and makes a difference in daily life.

Oh, and we love to sing at St. Peter! At every service an acoustic guitarist, a keyboardist, and/or song leaders will assist us in singing praises to Jesus. We offer a blended worship service which means that we include beloved hymns and also contemporary hits you may hear on Christian radio. Hang around after the service for refreshments and get to know us. First-time guests receive a free gift as our way of saying “thanks for coming!”

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS? WILL THEY ATTEND WORSHIP WITH ME?

We love having children in the service. Right before the sermon, the children are invited to come forward for a simplified message.

After the children’s message, your kids can return to their seat with you. Children’s Sunday School is offered between the services at 10:30am. Stay for adult bible study in the Fellowship Hall while your children learn about the bible in a fun, kid-friendly way.

If you choose to take your child out during service, need to change a diaper, or would prefer to nurse privately, a room is located just outside of the sanctuary. You can continue to listen to the service as you tend to your children.
