Our Staff

Born and raised in Texas, William was active in his church throughout his upbringing. However, his path to becoming a pastor was not very direct. In fact, after high school, he attended the University of Texas at Austin to study Chemical Engineering. After two and a half years in the program and several internship experiences, William made the decision to transfer to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN to study for the Pastoral Ministry. It was there he met his wife, Lauren, in Spanish class.

They graduated, got married, and moved to Mequon, WI where William attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. In 2016, he graduated with his Master’s of Divinity.

William has been serving at St. Peter since he was assigned as the Spanish-speaking pastor in 2016. For five years, he primarily served the Spanish-speaking side of the congregation improving his Spanish and preaching bilingually. Then after his associate retired in the summer of 2021, he was called to serve as the sole pastor of St. Peter.

In their time here, God has blessed the Dunn family richly. They have four wonderful children, Aurora, Elena, Liam, and Kiara! Also in 2023, Lauren was called to serve as an Assistant Lecturer of Spanish at Wisconsin Lutheran College, where she serves currently.

William and Lauren are grateful to call Milwaukee home. St. Peter-San Pedro has become like family to them and they look forward to continue serving the ministry on the southside of Milwaukee in the years to come.

Pastor Dunn especially enjoys youth and family ministry, preaching, and dogmatics, as well as helping young couples establish a strong foundation as they prepare for marriage. He loves learning, food, music, and travel. He is an avid basketball fan (Go Mavs/Go Bucks!), a techie, and a Star Wars nerd!
